We are a captivating, publishing company that is seeking an extraordinary Desktop Publisher. Our firm is currently seeking an experienced very creative Desktop Publisher to complete a medium sized project. The first assignment is a 32 (approximately) page mock-up magazine. To fill this position, we desire a professional who is accustomed to working with small companies like ours that are creative in finding ways to stretch a dollar. A Qualified Job Candidate is one who: * Working Experience w/ Quark 6.0 * Working Experience w/ InDesign * Has excellent Desk Top Publishing skills in creating, organizing and designing forms, financial charts, the e-book page template, designing covers for each volume, etc. * Experience working with Magazine publishing * Experience in modern print design * Typography experience * Experienced in dealing with online issues such as optimizing the images and pages for reasonable download time * Can create work that prints out well in black and white or color * Excellent knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and conversion of files into PDFs * Working knowledge of Editable PDFs and creating e-mail links and linkable words to open in the customer's default browser * Is PC compatible if u work on a MAC Reliable and trustworthy. Detail-oriented and confident in making suggestions when they see that something may be improved. Organized, and have the ability to set and meet deadlines. Excellent in English communication skills (both written and verbal) able to follow explicit instructions, on the phone and via e-mail. Never reluctant to ask questions in an effort to understand the full picture. Flexible in redirecting their project plans should a major change arise.
